Abstract:

The book entitled. "Medical Disputes" addresses the important and topical issue of conflicts between a patient and a doctor or treatment provider. In it, the authors have presented important problems related to such disputes. The concept of a medical dispute and its specifics are explained. The civil, criminal, administrative and corporate aspects of claims related to treatment failure and medical errors are presented. Both judicial and non-judicial methods of resolving disagreements between parties are discussed. Specific issues that are the most common area of dispute are also characterised, such as plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine, assisted procreation, compulsory vaccination of minors, and medical decisions concerning seniors. Ways to prevent disputes and their possible consequences in the form of insurance and mediation are not overlooked. The book combines theoretical and practical approaches to the title issue. It is addressed to all those interested in medical disputes, in particular professionals who are involved in the resolution of conflicts between parties or research the problem from an academic point of view.
