Broedstedt ukazany w stroju duchownego, w pomieszczeniu, przy stole z księgą, na tle regału z książkami (po l.) i uniesionej kotary (po p.) L. ręka skierowana w kierunku leżącej na stole otwartej księgi z inskrypcją w j. greckim. P. dłonią unosi kartę księgi. Sygn. u dołu po p.: "J. Örth sc". Pod portretem rozbudowana inskrypcja: "JOHANNES SIGISMUNDUS BROESTEDT / VRATISLAVIAE AD SPIRITUM S. PRAEPOSITUS, AEDIS S. BERNHARDINI PASTOR / CONSISTORII AUGUST. CONFESS. ASSESSOR. / NATUS A. MDCLXXV. VIII FEBRUARII. DENATUS A. MDCCXXV. XII AUGUSTI. AET.
